Crawford's athletic began while attending Cheyney. A four year starter for Cheyney 's Football Team, he was voted Rookie of the Year in 1978 and served as co-captain of the team in 1982. Zachary was a member of both the first and second All Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference. In 1982 he played on the All American Second Annual Black Star Football Game held in Jackson, Mississippi. After graduation, while employed as Residence Manager at Sleighton School in Glen Mills, PA, he became their Head Basketball Coach.
Mr. Crawford is an active member of Phi Beta Sigma, Gamma Omicron Chapter of Cheynye University and attends Homecoming and May Weekend each year. Currently, he is employed as a Transitional Houing Case Manager for the Communtiy Action Agency of Delaware County located in Chester, PA, where he also serves as a mentor for the agency. An ordained minister and decon, Crawford also directed the Youth Ministry at his church and serves as a biblical counselor.
