Samuel Mantegna was the captain of the wrestling team and a two time All American while attending Cheyney University. He ranked 5th place at the Division II Nationals. He was also a four time national qualifier regional champion and regional runner-up.
Since leaving Cheyney, Mantegna, has competed in Open Masters Division Tournaments. His greatest enjoyment has come from coaching wrestling. He has coached all age groups and spend much of his time coaching at the Aston AA Wrestling Club. On numerous occasions, Samuel Mantega returned to his alma mater to assist Coach Johnson with teaching and training members of the wrestling team. He was also instrumental in helping with recruitment efforts and identifying quality athletes for the university's sports programs.
