Hall of Fame
Kendall resides in Irvington, New Jersey with his wife, (a Cheyney alumna), and three children. Southerland is a speical education teacher and received the Teacher of the Year Award in 2000.
Kendall excelled in two college sports. In wrestling he was All American in 1992; First Team All Area and was ranked #1 @ 158lbs. He was also a linebacker on the football team and maintains membership in the Football Official's professional organization. Mr. Southerland is also a member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity.
Southerland is currently a head wrstling coach, and served as an assistant coach for a number of years. He was inducted into the Irvington High School Hall of Fame in 1997 and received the District 13 Wrestling Coach of the Year Award in 2009.
