Hall of Fame
Joe served as Head Athletic Trainer for all sports at Cheyney from 1975-1958. Some highlights of his tenure included the 1978-79 Men's Basketball Final Four Teams, and 1979 Football Championship Team. He was also the Assistant Track Coach at Cheyney. Iezzi has served as trainer for numerous championship teams and has been the Head Athletic trainer at Downingtown High School since 1988. During his 37 years as an athletic trainer he has been involved in five NCAA Final Four and 21 PIAA State Championships.
Joe has served leadership roles on the National Athletic Trainers' Association, has held membership in the Eastern Athletic Trainer's Association and the Pennsylvania Athletic Trainer's Society, is a charter member of the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA), and holds state, national and international certifications in most major sports.
Mr. Iezzi has received numerous awards over the years including the Micro-Biomedics EATA Secondary School Athletic Trainer Award, 1999, the NATA "Most Distinguished Athletic Trainer" Award in 2005; the Pennsylvania Athletic Trainer's Society (PATS) Hall of Fame in 2007, and West Chester University Milton Blitz Basketball Service Award in 2011 to name a few. He earned a Master of Science from California University of Pennsylvania, a Bachelor of Science from West Chester University, and pursed graduate studies at Cheyney. Mr. Iezzi resides in Downingtown, Pennsylvania.
