Currently residing in Marlvern, PA, Whitaker is a retired professro and former assistant director of athletics. He is a founding memebr of the CU Athletic Hall of Frame commitee. While at Cheyney, he served as an assistant track coach and head coah of the cross country team. In additional, he was a director of the National Youth Sports Program. He was also as associate professor in the Health, Physical Education and Recreation Department. He earned his master's degree in education from Cheyey University in 1977 and his B.A. from Saint Augustine's College in 1959. He is a native of Garner, N.C. and a 1955 graduate of Garner High School.
