Robert L.Reese graduated from Cheyney in 1984 with a BS in Education and by the time the following February came around he was in the military. He enrolled in Ordnance School quickly moved through training and up the ranks. Throughout his 26 years of commissioned service he has held many titles including his final post in the Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff, G-8, 700 Army Pentagon. He retired as a Lieutenant Colonel, Ordnance.

While a student-athlete Reese was extremely adept on the track. In 1982 he ran the lead off leg for the Wolves 1600 relay that captured the Gold medal at the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Championship held at Slippery Rock University. The victory led the Wolves to a fifth place finish that season. It was the last time a Cheyney 1600 relay squad earned the right to compete in the coveted IC4As.
