Hall of Fame
Aletha M. Blackman was a member of the Lady Wolves basketball, volleyball and softball teams during her tenure at Cheyney during the late 70’s. “Being on those teams were instrumental in preparing for my future, both physical and mentally,” commented Blackman. “The friends I made at Cheyney are priceless.”
As an athlete, Blackman was a forward/center on the hardwood and a center fielder on the diamond. She also pledged 307 Academic Social Fellowship.
Since leaving Cheyney, Blackman joined the United States Navy and studied communications. She also has coached girls’ basketball at Columbia Middle School and worked with the youth for 10 years as a Social Recreational Counselor at the Boys and Girls Club in Lancaster. Blackman went back to school to study Computer System Technology at the Lancaster County Career & Technology Center of Brownstown.
