Julius Flynn is a 1991 graduate of Cheyney University of Pennsylvania. He was a four year starter on the football team and was captain in his junior and senior year. Flynn earned All-Pennsylvania State Atheltic Conference in two positions -- punter and safety. Flynn was honored with the Freshman Scholar Award and was named to the Deans List on five separate occasions. He is the only football player in Cheyney history to be named 1st Team All-PSAC four consecutive years. He was also named All-ECAC (Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference). Flynn was the Cheyney University Athlete of the Year in 1989-1990.

After leaving Cheyney in 1994 with a Master Degree in Adult and Continuing Education, Flynn began a 13 year career at Brandywine High School in Wilmington, Delaware. For 10 years he also coached their football team: From 1996-99, he was the Defensive Coordinator and In 2000, he took over the heading coaching responsibilities, a job he held until 2005. He stepped away from the top spot to acquire 45 credits above his master's degree (with principal certification in Delaware, grades 9-12). In 1996 Julius married Lisa Dogget, a Cheyney Alumni. They have two wonderful children, Dominique Alysse,and Skylar Alexis.

The future is still unfolding for Flynn. He hopes to become a High School Administrator and to enroll in Educational Leadership next fall. Flynn is active in various educational associations in Delaware. He is a volunteer football coach at a local high school, and holds the position of Deacon at Rhema Christian Center in Wilmington, Delaware.
