Barbara starred in basketball at Simon Gratz High School inPhialdelphia before enrolling at Cheyney. She was recruited to play at Cheyney by Hall of Famer John Chaney. While playing in the Bill Berry Basketball League, John Chaney watched her lead her team to an undefeated season while averaging 20 points and 19 rebounds. Barbara played with flair and was often compared to Earl "The Pearl" Monroe.

She started her colligate career as a power forward averaging a double double her freshman and sophomore sesons. In her rookie year she scored 18 points per contest while grabbing 14 rebounds and dishing out seven assists per night. In her junior and senior year Barbara moved to the guard position. She averaged 13 and 14 points respectively while averaging six rebounds and six and a half assists as an upperclassman.

After college, Barbara played three and a half years professionally for the New York Stars and later went on to play and coach in the Sonny Hill League.

Barbara is currently an Administrative Assitant at Acts Transitional Services in Philadelphia. She has been there the past nine years.
