A 1984 graduate, Rhonda Johnson was a member of the cross country and track and field teams. Upon graduation, Johnson worked for a hospital based therapeutic recreation program for two years. Soon after she married Keith Johnson, a CU Hall of Famer and the rest is history.

Johnson currently works for the YMCA of Delaware as a Membership Coordinator and Program Specialist, serving the adult and senior population for the past three years.

For the past 27 years she has worked with her husband as a real estate investor in Pennsylvania and Delaware. This has allowed her to stay home for 19 years and do the most important work of all, care for her daughter Shannon and son Keith Jr.

Rhonda’s interest and hobbies include pickle ball, running and gardening. For the past two years Rhonda has participated in the Delaware Senior Olympics and in 2014 set the 800-meter record in track and earned a gold medal in 200-meter. In pickle ball,

Rhonda also earned gold in women’s doubles and silver in mixed doubles with her husband Keith. In the 2014 Delaware County Senior Games Rhonda earned five gold medals and two in pickle ball. This past year Rhonda captured six gold medals at the Delaware County Senior Games as a as a silver in the baseball throw and pickleball and a bronze in the football throw.

At work, Rhonda is referred to as the “Pickle ball Queen.” Rhonda continues to compete in tournaments throughout the Mid-Atlantic and a huge supporter of the fastest growing game in the country.

Another passion of Rhonda’s is gardening. Once the weather brakes she can be found working in her garden planting flowers and pulling weeds.
