DANBURY, Conn. - Cheyney University senior center Keon Hughes was named an honorable mention selection Eastern College Athletic Conference All-Star on the offensive line as announced by the league offices on Tuesday morning.
  
Hughes, earned First-Team East all-PSAC honors at center in 2017, after being selected by the coaches as the center on the second-team in 2016. The Staten Island, N.Y. native was also a third-team selection on the Don Hansen Football Gazette All-Area Team in 2016.  

Hughes, who started all 22-games since arriving on campus, stepped into a veteran offensive line in 2016 with four seniors, was the captain of the unit in 2017 that featured all-new starters at each position other than center. The line did not allow a sack until the third game of the season, and helped Cheyney put up 56 points in the first half against Lincoln.
 
The selection marks the second consecutive season a Cheyney player has been honored by the ECAC, following in the footsteps of Defensive lineman Joe Bryant who earned a place on the first team in 2016. 

The ECAC All-Stars are chosen from members who earn all-conference accolades in their respective conferences.
