Fighting Scots Top Football on Senior Day

CHEYNEY, Pa. –  The Cheyney University football team closed the 2017 season by falling 63-0 to visiting Edinboro, before the game, the Cheyney University Athletic Department honored its 19 student-athletes who made their final appearance in a Wolves uniform Saturday morning, before the season finale inside O'Shields-Stevenson stadium.

The 19 players who are all on track to graduate in December or May are:

Quarterback: Dominick Trautz, Center Keon Hughes, Guard Brandon McCray, Wide receivers: Anwar-Nasser Mathis, Jowan Lewis-Kearse, Nigel Wiley, Yvesner Ferdinand,
Tight end Kyle Berlin, and Running backs: Rolando Ransom, Devin Miller and Brandon French.

Defensive line and linebackers: Samuel Anojulu, Jamiel Hines, Keyson Dingle, Chaplin Johnson-Davis, Bradley Dardas, Defensive backs: Gary Brown and Jeffrey Bell and Punter/K Brendyn Van Demark.

Trautz threw for 115 yards and added a career-long 36-yard run, Lewis-Kearse caught three passes for a team-high 47 yards, Mathis reeled in a 41-yard pass, Ferdinand had two receptions and a 40-yard kickoff return, Berlin also made two catches and Wiley and Miller each made a catch.

Miller led the ground game with 23 yards rushing Ransom ran for seven yards and accumulated 111 yards on kickoff returns. French was injured vs East Stroudsburg on week 5 and missed the final six games of the season.

???????Anojulu was the leading tackler with nine total including 1.5 for a loss, Dingle made eight stops with 2.5 for a loss a sack and a pass break-up, Hines made six stops one for a loss, Johnson Davis also made six total tackles, Bell had two tackles and a pass break-up, Dardas made one stop and Brown added a tackle and a pass break-up.

Wiley was credited with two total tackles, while Mathis, Lewis-Kearse and Ransom each recorded a tackle.

R-Fr. Terez Franklin made his fourth interception of the season.

Fighting Scots Sr QB Jake Sisson threw for five touchdowns in his final game to lead Edinboro (7-4) to the victory.
