Box Score It was a long night for the Wolves (0-4:0-3) as they fell 74-0 to Kutztown (2-2:2-1) as the offense struggled and the defense gave up 572 total yards. The Cheyney defense spent more than 36 minutes on the field as CU's Isaiah Fleming led all players with a career high 19 tackles. The senior was also credited with a fumble recovery and a quarterback hurry.
Kutztown forced a safety on the Wolves first possession and scored touchdowns on their first two offensive possessions to take a 16-0 lead midway through the first quarter. Kutztown added two more touchdowns in the first quarter to take a 30-0 lead as the teams traded sides of the field. Two turnovers and a blocked field goal added to the Wolves problems in the opening quarter. The Golden Bears added 17 points in the third quarter putting points up in each of their three possessions. Kutztown added 14 more points in the final quarter to round out the scoring.
The Wolves were credited with only 17 yards rushing and 30 yards passing. KU was credited with 300 yards passing and 272 yards rushing. Cheyney did force two fumbles but surrendered four turnovers of their own. KUs Terry Williams led all players with 180 yards rushing on 25 carries including four touchdowns. Signal caller Chad Barton was 20-25 for 279 and four touchdowns.
Things don't get any easier for the Wolves as they host league leading Bloomsburg next Saturday at 1:00 PM.
