Cheyney fell to Shippensburg 34-13 in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Eastern Division football contest.

Shippensburg took the opening kick-off and marched 43 yards in eight plays to set up a Michael Lloyd field goal to give the Red Raiders a 3-0 lead.  But it was the Cheyney defense that made a statement.  The Red Raiders had first and goal from the seven and the Cheyney defense prevented Shippensburg from finding the end-zone.   After gaining two first downs on their first possession, Cheyney was forced to punt.  Shippensburg took over on their own 19.  The Red Raiders went 81 yards in 11 plays capped by a Sheldon Mayer five yard rush for a touchdown to take a 10-0 lead.

Cheyney cut into the lead on their first possession of the second quarter.  Signal caller Michael Campbell orchestrated a nine play 68 yard drive.  Campbell was 3-5 on the drive with completions of 23 yards to Eugene Moten, 33 yards to Khalif Dandy and a six yard strike to Dandy in the end-zone.  On the Red Raiders ensueing drive, Shippensburg was able to march deep into Cheyney's territory but the Wolves defense once again force multiple stops before taking over on their own five.  The teams headed into the locker room at half with Cheyney trailing 10-7.

The Red Raiders forced a Cheyney punt to start the second half and took over on the Wolves 49 yard line.  Ten plays later Justin Pyle scored on a two yard rush to push the lead to 17-7.  The Wolves answered right back with a touchdown.  A Campbell four yard pass to Moten capped a 12 play, 75 yard drive.  It was Campbell's final play of the game as he was forced to leave the game after the completion.  A Shippensburg 20 yard field goal started the fourth quarter.  The Red Raiders added two late touchdowns for the final margin of victory.

On the afternoon, Campbell was 12-22 for 156 yards with two touchdowns.  Conversely, the Shippensburg quarterbacks were 2-5 for 10 yards.  Campbell and Khalil Rodgers led the Wolves rushing attack with 25 yards apiece.  Blair Brooks and Pyle each rushed for over 100 yards for Shippensburg.  Brooks ran for 160 yards on 21 carries while Pyle rushed for 148 yards on 26 carries.

CUs Marvin Morris and Isaiah Fleming led defense with 14 and 12 tackles respectively.

Cheyney returns to the grid iron next Saturday.  The Wolves will travel crosstown to battle the Rams of West Chester at Noon.
