Gary Brown
Box Score

The Cheyney defense was credited with four interceptions, two by Jamil Williams and two by Gary Brown, but could not find the end-zone as the Wolves fell 28-0 to Lock Haven.

The Cheyney offense continued to struggle only amassing 79 yards of offense.  The Wolves were led by signal caller Michael Campbell.  The quarterback rushed for 20 yards and was 6-16 in the air for 53 yards.

The first quarter was a scoreless affair with LHU quarterback Caleb Walton throwing three interceptions which the Wolves could not capitalize.  Lock Haven scored the game's first points on a Walton 28 yard pass to Cook to give the visitors a 7-0 lead after the PAT.  The scoring drive was set up after the Eagles faked a punt on fourth and ten with punter Bryce Stambaugh completing a 10 yard pass to Tyrai Anderson to keep the drive alive.  Two plays later the Eagles scored.  The Eagles successfully converted the ensuing on-sides kick but the Cheyney defense held firm and took over on their own 27 yard line after a missed 44 yard field goal.  The Wolves and Eagles went into the locker room with Lock Haven leading 7-0 at the break.

Late in the third quarter the Eagles doubled their advantage when quarterback Shaun Jones completed a six yard pass to Jeff Dincher.  The play capped a 62 yard, 12 play drive that ate up almost five minutes.  The Eagles added to their lead early in the fourth quarter as Walton found Farrell Boyd in the back of the end-zone on a four yard pass.  The Wolves looked like they were going to get on the scoreboard after Williams interception return of 35 yards gave Cheyney a first and ten on the Lock Haven 13 yard line.  After earning a first and goal the Wolves fumbled the ball as Cheyney appeared to be going in for the score.  Lock Haven took over on their own 2 yard line and proceeded to march 98 yards in 18 plays capped with a Walton quarterback sneak from a yard out.  The drive consumed almost eight minutes.

Cheyney's Isaiah Fleming led all players with 11 tackles including two tackles for loss.

The Eagles quarterbacks combined for 229 yards on 29-40 and were able to overcome four interceptions.  David Cook was Lock Haven's top receiver with eight receptions for 69 including a touchdown.  Beau Swales led the rushing attack with 116 yards on 24 carries.  Lock Haven was credited with 402 yards of total offense and ran an impressive 91 plays.

Cheyney will be on the road the next two weeks.  The Wolves will travel to Shippensburg next Saturday followed by a cross town jaunt to West Chester on November 1.  Lock Haven plays host to Millersville next week.
