Box Score Despite scoring a season high 21 points, Cheyney (0-6:0-5) fell to East Stroudsburg (5-1:4-1) 49-21.
Khalil Rodgers rushed for a season high 100 yards on 17 carries. Quarterback Michael Campbell was 14-20 for 186 yards and two touchdowns. The 186 passing yards represents a season high for the Wolves. His favorite receiver on the night was Khalif Dandy who caught 11 passes for 146 including touchdowns of 21 and 14 yards. Cheyney was also credited with a season high 26 first downs.
The Wolves owned the time of possession. Cheyney held the ball for an impressive 39:56 but in the end good not stop the Warriors.
ESU scored touchdowns on each of their first five possessions, four in the first half. Cheyney was able to regroup at halftime and put together a six play 82 yard drive in their first possession of the second half as Rolando Ramson scampered in from 11 yards out. After forcing their first three and out of the night, Cheyney once again put together a scoring drive. Signal caller Campbell orchestrated a nine play 84 yard drive capped with a 21 yard pass to Dandy to cut the deficit to 42-14. ESU answered on the ensuing possession for their final score of the night. Cheyney added their final score of the night on their first possession of the fourth quarter. Eugene Moten set up the scoring drive with a 40 yard punt return giving the Wolves a first down on the ESU 31 yard line. Ransom kept the drive alive, rushing for nine yards on a fourth and two. The next play Campbell found Dandy in the corner of the end zone to round out the scoring.
The Wolves return home next Saturday to face Lock Haven in a homecoming tilt. Kick-off is slated for 1:00 PM.
