Cheyney fell to Mercyhurst 63-14 in a PSAC cross-over contest. The Wolves spotted the Lakers 21 points before Cheyney answered with 14 points of their own to get back in the game. However, Mercyhurst was able to score a late second quarter touchdown to take a 28-14 lead into the locker room.

It was all Mercyhurst in the second half as the Lakers added 21 points in the third quarter and 14 more in the fourth for the margin of victory.

The 63 points surrendered were the most by the Wolves all season.

The Wolves first scoring drive was occurred mid-way through the second quarter. The Wolves started a drive on their own 30 yard line after Eugene Moten returned a kick-off 30 yards. After three consecutive rushes of 11, 10 and 11 yard by Nahum Puride, Marcus Jones and Jay Journigan the Wolves were in Lakers territory. After two short rushes by Rolando Ramson and Jones, Purdie broke another rush for 16 yards. The drive was capped off by a Justin Watkins run of 17 yards for their first score. After forcing a three and out, Moten's punt return of 72 yards gave the Wolves excellent field position on the Lakers 11 yard line. Two plays later Jones found the end-zone on a six yard scamper.

Moten was once again a force to be reckoned with as a returner. He returned two punts for 74 yards and four kick-offs for 97 yards. The Cheyney defensive unit was led by Isaiah Fleming. The linebacker recorded 10 tackles including four tackles for loss. Monwell Brown also registered 10 tackles.

The Wolves will be on the road next week at Kutztown in a PSAC East battle. Kick-off is scheduled for 1:05 pm.
