Box Score

Cheyney (1-10:1-4) fell 3-0 to Shippensburg (7-7:1-4) in women's volleyball.  It was the first conference victory for the Red Raiders who snapped a five match skid. 
Breanna Joseph led Cheyney with five kills on21 attacks.  Virshae Campbell was credited with five assists and nine digs.  Kilondra Davis also had nine digs.

Cheyney battled hard in each of the three sets, faltering midway through each set.  In the first set, Cheyney was trailing 17-12 before the Red Raiders scored the final eight points of the set giving Shippensburg a 25-12 victory. 

Shippensburg scored the first five points of set number two en route to a 25-16 victory.  Shippensburg stretched the advantage to 10 and 14-4 before the Lady Wolves countered with five of the next six points.  Shippensburg then ran off five unanswered points of their own to take control of the set. 

In the third, the Lady Wolves found themselves down 11-9 until the Red Raiders ran off eight of the next nine points to take a commanding lead.  Shippensburg went on to win the set.  25-17. 

The Red Raiders were led by Brittany Whitacre with seven kills.  Laura Plank and Annie Goerl recorded 11 and 10 digs respectively.

Cheyney is back in action tomorrow afternoon.  The Lady Wolves will host Millersville at 1:00 PM in Cope Hall.  Shippensburg will play at West Chester tomorrow afternoon.
