CALIFORNIA, Pa - Freshman Nazirah Purnell capped an excellent first cross country season at Cheyney University by completing the 6 Kilometer PSAC Championship course in 27:44.6 Saturday morning on the campus of California, Pa.

Purnell, who won two races this season including taking  the title in the Battle of the First on Thursday Oct, 12, was the top Cheyney harrier in the mornings race. Erica-Lyn Russell also impressed by cracking the 30 minute mark in finishing in 29:42.2.

So. Sheala Miles was the next Wolf to cross the finish line clocking a time of 33:53.2, Nickeela Austin was right behind her with a time of 34:10.8 and Kiyana Roberts clocked a time of 36:15.1.

Edinboro University won the team event,by edging out Shippensburg the defending champions.

The Wolves will now focus on the indoor season with the first meet to take place in December.
