LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - Cheyney Women's Cross Country Freshman.
Nazirah Purnell (Williamsport, Pa. / Williamsport Area), who led Cheyney University to a victory over Lincoln University on Thursday October 12, was named PSAC Women's Cross Country Athlete of the Week for Week 7 announced on Tuesday by the league offices.
Purnell, who won the first race of the season, also hosted by Cheyney at Wessttown High School, crossed the start finish line of the 5 Kilometer course in a time of 22:39.9, to led the Wolves who captured the first four places en route to a dominating victory over Lincoln Thursday afternoon in the Battle of the First, Cross Country edition, held at the the Cheyney University Farm Course.

Erica-Lyn Russellwas the second runner to cross the line inside O'Shields-Stevenson stadium with a time of 23:14.4.

Nina-Simone Beaver was next to finish in 23:25.5 and So.
Sheala Miles crossed the line in 24.35.4 in fourth place, freshman
Nickeela Austin finished in ninth place in a time of 26:39.8 to close out the scoring for Cheyney. Freshman
Kiyana Roberts was tenth in 27:09.3 and classmate
Rebecca Evans crossed the line in 30:57.4.
The Wolves won the race by a score of 19-37. It is the first time the ladies have beaten Lincoln since Head Coach Brianna Liebold came to Cheyney in 2012.
