GALLOWAY, N.J. –
Nickeela Austin picked up victories in the long and triple jump along with qualifying for the PSAC Championships in the 200m dash to lead the Cheyney University women's track and field squad at the Osprey Open and Multi Meet over the weekend held at G. Larry James Stadium hosted by Stockton University.
Austin placed third in the 200 on Saturday in a time of 25.56 to qualify of the PSAC Championships,
Sheala Miles clocked a career-best time of 26.14 to finish in seventh position.
In the long jump, Austin matched her career outdoor best distance of 5.43m/17'9.75" to captured the title on Saturday after registering a jump of 11.68m/38'4" the second longest
in Cheyney history in winning the competition.
Nazirah Purnell broke her own Cheyney University record in the 800m, crossing the line in 2:25.99 in finishing third overall.
Miles placed fourth in the 100 in a career-best time of 12.87 and
Oluwayemisi Oresanwo put the shot 8.08m/26'6.25m.
The Wolves are back in action on Saturday April 21, as they travel to East Stroudsburg for the ESU All-American.
