CHEYNEY, Pa. - Visiting Shippensburg jumped out to a 28-0 first quarter advantage and went ot to a 56-0 victory over Cheyney University, in PSAC East action, on a gloomy Saturday afternoon inside O'Shields-Stevenson Stadium.
The Wolves (1-6, 0-4 PSAC E) were shutout for the second consecutive game after scoring in their previous ten outing.
The Raiders (6-1, 3-1 PSAC E) scored seven rushing touchdowns to rebound from a home loss to West Chester University last week.
Cheyney only managed two first downs on offense its lowest output of the season, and were held to just 20 yards passing after entering the game averaging over 200 yards per game.
Devon Jones recovered a fumble for the Wolves and added two tackles.
Esaie Batoula and
Samuel Anojulu each recorded seven solo and one assisted tackle, while
Jamiel Hines had four solo and three assisted tackles including a tackle for loss and
Juwan Offing-Davis was credited five solo tackles.
Cheyney returns to action on Saturday, October 21 when it hosts West Chester University, for Homecoming, with the kickoff scheduled for 1:00 PM inside O'Shields-Stevenson Stadium.
