Deshawn Curtis netted 25 points and grabbed 10 rebounds while team mate Calvin Brown scored 11 points and grabbed eight rebounds but it wasn't enough as Cheyney (2-8) fell 50-49 to California (PA) (4-6). It was the second time in two days that the Wolves came out on the short end of a one-point game.

The end of the game featured five lead changes in the final minutes with Cheyney missing a jumper from the elbow (foul line extended) with :04 seconds remaining. The ball went out of bounds and was awarded to Cheyney with :00.2 seconds remaining. Cal was able to tip the in-bounds pass off the backboard to seal the victory.

Cheyney used a 10-0 to end the first half and take a 28-22 lead into the locker room. Curtis led the Wolves scoring eight of the 10 points during the run and 17 in the first twenty minutes. The Vulcans first took the lead in the second half at the 4:05 mark after Jake Jacubec drained a jumper. From there neither team had more than a one point lead.

Jacubec led the Vulcans with 10 points.

Cheyney returns home Saturday afternoon to take on Slippery Rock. The Wolves and Rock are scheduled to tip-off at 3:00 pm in Cope Hall.
