Coach Steve Dent enters his third year as member of the Cheyney University coaching staff and his in second season as the quarterbacks coach and recruiting coordinator.
Dent has also coached the running backs and wide receivers, along with the offensive and defensive lines in his four stops at Cheney. His first year at Cheyney was 1999, he also worked with the team in 2009 and 2011, before rejoining the staff in 2014.
Steve, was the head football coach at Brandywine High School, in Wilmington, Del., (2007-09) and the head coach and offensive coordinator at Charter School of Wilmington,(2000-06).
Coach Dent worked as an assistant coach at Ursinus College, where he was also the recruiting coordinator from 1997-99. Durinig this time the program developed several All-Americans and made a post season berth.
Steve has been the head golf coach at Concord High School in Wilmington, Del., since 2005. In 2010 the squad captured the state team championship and had the individual winner in 2010 and 2011.
Coach Dent also spent a year as a head football coach in Paris, France
