WBB Drops Final Road Contest at West Chester

WEST CHESTER, Pa. – Host West Chester University scored the first 18 points of the game and went on to a 98-63 victory over the Cheyney University women's basketball team Saturday afternoon in PSAC East action inside Hollinger Fieldhouse.

Briana Hedgepeth led the Wolves (5-18, 3-14 PSAC E) with 13 points with a team-high three assists and four rebounds and Yasmine Dorrielan added her fourth double-double of the season with 10 points and 10 rebounds.

Porscha Speller led all scorers with 23 points and went over the 1,000 point plateau in her career and Mia Hopkins collected a triple-double with 22points, 12 assists and  13 rebounds to pace the Golden Rams (19-4, 16-3 PSAC E) who won for the 15th consecutive time.

The Wolves trailed 30-9 after the first quarter and made an 11-5 run to start the second to make it a 35-20 contest, but the  Golden Rams pulled away and led 53-26 at the break.
Drazana Vulic matched her career-best with 10 points and pulled down a career-high seven rebounds, K'viah Breazeale scored eight points

Cheyney will return home for the final five games of the regular season.

Cheyney will play three home games during the week starting with a Monday night matchup with East Stroudsburg with the tipoff scheduled for 5:30 inside Cope Hall.

The Wolves will entertain Shippensburg on Wednesday night and close the week with a visit from Kutztown University on Saturday February 17, with the game scheduled to start at 1:00 pm.
Following the game, we will recognize the men's 1977-78 Division II National Championship team before the men's game.
