Lady Wolves Drop Season Finale

In the final women's game of the 2014-15 season, Cheyney (4-23:4-18) fell to Shippensburg (18-10:14-8) 88-70.  The Lady Wolves featured a balanced scoring attack as five players' tallied double figures.  Kia Whitley-Duncan paced Cheyney with 17 points.  Kyra Hines-Allen added 13 and Taschell Phillips and Lila Jones netted 10 points apiece. 

Despite shooting an impressive 54% from the field in the first half, Cheyney was out gunned by a Shippensburg team that shot 66%.  Cheyney once again suffered from a slow start.  The Raiders jumped out to a 17-2 lead and never looked back.  Cheyney briefly cut the lead to seven points on several occasions but Shippensburg went into the locker room at halftime owning a 51-37 lead.  Shippensburg did most of their damage in the paint as they outscored Chyeney 28-14 from close range.  During the second half the Lady Wolves could not cut the deficit to single digits.  It was the Cheyney bench that kept the Lady Wolves within striking distance as the Cheyney reserves outscored the Shippensburg reserves 42-16. 

Logan Snyder led the Red Raiders with 19 points.
