CHEYNEY, PA. - For a brief moment it appeared that Amber Genwright would lead another fourth period comeback when she scored nine points, but it was not enough as visiting Millersville University defeated Cheyney University 48-37 in PSAC East action Wednesday night inside Alfred Cope Hall.

The Wolves (2-8, 0-6 PSAC E) trailed by 14 points in a low scoring contest early in the fourth, when Genwright made a three to cut the deficit to 11. After a Millersville basket, Briana Hedgepeth made two free-throws and Genwright followed with another triple to cut the lead down to eight points at 42-34 with 3:17 to play.

Cooper, who led the Marauders (5-4, 3-4 PSAC E) with 10 points and 12 rebounds, grabbed an offensive rebound and scored to push the lead to 10.

Shania Stamper's layup and free-throw brought the Wolves to within seven at 44-37, but Cheyney could not score the rest of the game.

The loss ends the Wolves two game winning streak.

Genwright finished with a team-high 10 points, Aerie DeJesus scored nine points, Stamper had eight points and a team-high seven rebounds and Adriene Small grabbed six boards.

Kyra Hines-Allen brought her career-total to 990 with four points, she needs 10 points to reach 1,000. Her next opportunity will be at East Stroudsburg on Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m. in the final game before a two week break for the holidays.
