Three touchdowns not enough for Men's Football

Cheyney, PA - Three touchdowns for the Cheyney University Men's Football team was not enough to overcome the Golden Rams of West Chester University.  Cheyney University (0-9, 0-6 PSAC) fell to cross town rival West Chester University (6-3, 5-1 PSAC) on a mild, partly sunny Saturday afternoon with a final score of 41-20.  

Sophomore QB Dominick Trautz (Guttenberg, NJ, North Bergen) threw for three touchdowns on the day completing 7 of his 22 passes with only one interception.  Sophomore WR Nigel Wiley (Monroe, NC, Sun Valley HS) was the recipient of a 21 yd pass from Trautz in the 1st quarter for Cheyney University's first touchdown.  Sophomore K/P Brendyn Van Demark (Millvile, NJ, Millville HS) hit the extra point that capped off a 7 play 91 yard drive for the Wolves.

Redshirt sophomore Marcus Lyles (Philadelphia, PA, University City) helped pull the Wolves within 3 points of the visiting Golden Rams in the 2nd quarter on a 23 yard pass from Trautz making the score at the time 17-14.  However West Chester scored again before going into the half with the Golden Rams leading 24-14.

During halftime Cheyney University acknowledged it seniors who were making their final home appearance at O'Shields-Stevenson Stadium.  Defensive Lineman #69 Isaac Leonard (Philadelphia, PA, Boys Latin), Running Back #3 Jay Journigan (Trenton, NJ, Hamilton West), Fullback #41 Bob Cunningham (Philadelphia, PA, Northern Lebanon), Defensive Lineman #91 Arthur White (Orlando, FL, Jones HS)Defensive Back #19 William Dennis (Philadelphia, PA, Olney), Defensive Back #5 Maurquise Hall (Washington, DC, McKinley Tech), Tight End #88 Christian Sanchez (Trenton, NJ, Hamilton West), and Offensive Lineman #55 Michael McGlashen (Philadelphia, PA, George Washington) were escorted by coaches and family to midfield for the ceremony.  

To start the fourth quarter Trautz found redshirt freshman WR Terel Gissendanner (Miami, FL, Miami Northwestern ) who scored on a 6 yard pass ending the hard fought effort shown by the Wolves of Cheyney University.  

Cheyney University is away it's last two games when next week (11-7) they face the Marauders of Millersville with a 1 PM start.
