Lady Wolves Drop Home Opener

Kyra Hines-Allen and Taschell Phillips scored 16 points apiece but it wasn't enough as Cheyney fell 88-58 to Bloomsburg (1-1:1-0) in the PSAC conference opener for both schools.

With the Huskies nursing a five point (21-16) lead, Bloomsburg out-scored the Lady Wolves (0-2:0-1) 18-6 over the final 6:27 of the first half to take a 39-22 lead into the locker room.  The Lady Wolves quickly trimmed the deficit to 14 but that was as close as Cheyney would get.  Cheyney shot an impressive 13-21 (.619) during the second half but still could not close the gap. 

"We knew with them coming off a loss this weekend, Coach Cleary would have them prepared to compete," commented Head Coach Kyle Adams.  "Tonight was a bit of an eye opener for our new additions.  I am very encouraged by our energy and our enthusiasm." 

Adreana Sadowski and Taylor Maldonado paced the Lady Huskies with 17 points apiece. 

The Lady Wolves will hit the road this weekend for a contest at PSAC foe Mansfield.  Tip-off against the Mountaineers is slated for 1:00 PM on Saturday.
